Contribute to Community Healing, Health, & Wellbeing

The Nature Studies Conservatory is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and public charity 170(b)(1)(A)(vi). The Conservatory serves the local community of Ventura County and areas of need within the United States and abroad. We invite you to support the Conservatory’s Healing Center, the Harmony Project, and the Living Sanctuary Intentional Community. Your contribution helps to provide quality services and resources to heal from oppression and trauma as well as to create housing, food, and resource security.

Healing Center

The Healing Center provides quality, mind-body/holistic health and wellbeing resources (free and by donation via the NSC Pay-It-Forward Fund). The program includes individual and group services, classes, and courses. Our offerings are provided onsite and by phone or online video conferencing (i.e., Zoom, Skype).

We help people heal from oppression and daily life stressors. This includes experiences of income disparity, inequality, injustice, prejudice, discrimination, violence, and systemic racism. Emotional pain and trauma (personal, ancestral, transgenerational, community, and cultural) are addressed to improve health and wellbeing, manage chronic health conditions, strengthen immunity, and optimize quality of life.

Harmony Project

Restoring Relationship, Healing Community

The Harmony Project supports personal healing work for rematriation, reclamation, and re-storying of individual, ancestral/family, and collective experiences. We provide an introduction and a 4-week, heart journeywork course to assist in restoring relationship/community and the renewal of humanity. Heart-centered, safe space is provided to unpack beliefs (including those “passed down” or transferred via social interactions). Integrative groupwork also helps to heal conscious/unconscious emotional pain and trauma (i.e., personal, transgenerational, cultural, historical +), holistically improve health and wellbeing, manage chronic health conditions, strengthen immunity, and optimize quality of life.

This individual work in supportive community nourishes the heart-soul, deepens inner relationship, and cultivates altruistic, reciprocal relationships with others. One-to-one sessions are available for a more in-depth focus. Post-workshop or post-retreat resources further contribute to relationship and community development.

Intentional Community & Land Trust

Nature Relationship, Conservancy, & Preservation

The Living Sanctuary Intentional Community (IC) will provide assistance and resources for healing from oppression and trauma as well as increasing economic/healthy housing/food security and restoring land-community relationship. This is the first of several nature-relational projects to establish BIPOC-supportive, green-sustainable/carbon neutral/regenerative intentional community assisted by collaborative partnerships. Our Leadership certificate program also will provide students with an opportunity to contribute to the intentional community’s development.

Each resident will receive support to develop an empowering, eco-based vision/mission that is aligned with personal authenticity/purpose, clarify strengths/needs, and access effective strategies/tools for optimizing quality of life. The Living Sanctuary Intentional Community (IC) includes a social ecopreneurship startup community with a hybrid co-operative and incubator. This healing community will promote trauma recovery and increase altruistic presence and resources for underserved, disadvantage, and BIPOC people while contributing to the restoration of the planet.
